Kernel Drivers

Ideas on Board work in partnership with silicon vendors and ODMs to support and create kernel drivers for image sensors, MIPI CSI2 receivers and Image Signal Processors.

Ideas on Board created and maintains the UVC drivers for Linux V4L2, employing core kernel contributors and maintainers to help drive the direction of Linux.

Middleware

Supporting cameras within the V4L2 subsystem has grown in complexity. We created libcamera as a fully featured camera stack for Linux, ChromeOS and Android to help facilitate the management and control of image acquisition, image processing algorithms and integration into applications.

The libcamera stack empowers you to have more control over your devices and enables you to have a wider selection of components for your products.

Applications

With gstreamer, PipeWire or Android integrations we can assist development of your application across a range of technology integrations in C, C++, Python or Rust.

We commit

We’ve helped develop thousands of patches in Linux kernel v6.2. This work has been created by Ideas on Board and directly accepted into the Kernel. Ideas on Board maintains components in the kernel and accepts code from other authors.

All code merged through us has our Signed-off-by added. We also help validate other developments where we have the corresponding devices to do so.
