Upstream Renesas V2H with libcamera

In my last post I anticipated Renesas RZ V2H was going to be the next SoC to get a fully open-source camera stack and here it, is in fact, the first pictures from the RZ/V2H EVK with an off-the-shelf Raspberry Pi Camera Module V3 from our camera inspection/tuning tool camshark.

Seeing it run with basically just upstream software feels, as usual, very satisfactory.

The V2H camera system integrates an ARM Mali-C55 ISP which has both Linux kernel drivers and libcamera support contributed by Daniel Scally from our team. This work, has been completed in partnership with Arm and Renesas Electronics to provide an upstream solution for the Mali-C55 camera stack.

V2H support marks yet-another SoC that runs libcamera and benefits from of an open source camera system that gives you full control. We are actively working on tuning the system to bring significant improvements to image quality this year.
